Our Story

Gold Coast 3PL (or GC3PL) is a Gold Coast based Warehousing and Logistics Company.

Started by Tim and Sylvia Hill in late 2018, GC3PL was born out of our own futile search to find an efficient (but human) logistical solution for our own brand, MAYDE, which has been operating since 2012 in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Japan, Korea and Europe.

After many years of dealing with third party logistics, we decided the lack of options on the Gold Coast presented an opportunity for us. It was the perfect way to service the many local boutique businesses, requiring the same level of service that we were looking for in a 3PL.

Collectively, we have backgrounds in all aspects of retail, ecommerce, manufacturing, and wholesaling within Australia. Understanding B2B and B2C selling channels is our expertise, and something we enjoy being able to assist our clients with. We provide a customised approach to each brand we work with and aim to fit in with their individual business requirements.

With over 25 years’ experience in sales, marketing and logistics and working as a general manager and brand manager, Tim has helped both small and large corporations to scale and grow their businesses. Sylvia has experience as a production manager and marketing specialist and has been involved in international supply chains.

Here at GC3PL, we pride ourselves in being as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible – all our in-house packaging is either reusable cardboard boxes or compostable satchels, our warehouse is run on solar power, and we recycle all non-useable paper and card stock wherever possible.

The aim of GC3PL is to provide a warehousing, order fulfilment and logistics partner to small businesses on the Gold Coast and throughout Australia.

What is a 3PL?

A 3PL (third party logistics) is a company that supplies warehousing and logistics services for other businesses. The essential services included would be warehouse storage for your goods, picking and packing your daily orders and making sure they are distributed via freight and courier companies. A 3PL can cater for all warehouse and transport logistics needs, overseeing products travelling from the suppliers factory, into the warehouse and back out for delivery to the end customers’ door.

What are the advantages to using a 3PL for your business?

  • Cost and time: the cost and time efficiencies gained by using a global network of freight logistics companies will save your business money.

  • Reduce business capital spending: outsourcing your warehouse space and services will reduce the expenditure for your business. You only pay for the space you’re using.

  • Focus on business activities: 3PL’s let you spend more time on the crucial aspects of your business that drive revenue and sales growth. Focus on what your company is good at.

  • Flexibility: keep your business flexible and open to growth and opportunities by using a 3PL. Be able to adapt and change with the business environment around you.

“We have been working with GC3PL for 1.5 years now and we cannot recommend them enough. Tim, Xan & the team are always responsive and go above and beyond for our brand. We are extremely grateful for what they have done for pared so far and look forward to continuing the partnership.”
